Fresh 48 - Warrnambool Fresh 48 Photographer

Boys are my calling. I get them, I adore them, I rough with them and tough with them. They give me grief and noise then give me hugs and tiaras. I have never known so much love with so many beautiful boys in my life…

I am the mother of three boys. I have two brothers, eight nephews and just three nieces. When I found out my brother had had another son (my ninth nephew) it was no surprise and I was seriously elated.

The point I'm trying to get to is that I was so damn full of joy when my ninth nephew 'baby Fergus' was born that I couldn’t wait to get my clickin finger on the trigger and shoot his every first moment in that hospital.

Because it’s the real, raw and authentic moments that drive me to do what I do.

I love documenting and documenting with passion.

We all know how fast time goes and how holy sacred those fresh first days are. They are worth treasuring. They are worth doing anything you can to bottle them up in a tiny little jar for one day when the noise has subsided and they are all you have left of your babies to look back on with joy.

Officially it's called a “Fresh 48” session. An in hospital photoshoot 24-48 hours after you have given birth.

Call it what you will but don’t let these precious moments go un-documented in some way.

So, here are my favourites from my first in hospital session. I have to say I fell hard for documenting life and family in this environment and would kill to do it again soon.

If you think it’s for you and you're expecting then I’d love to hear from you. xx
